North Kitsap Senior Photos | Owen’s Spring Session at Point No Point

Owen's senior pictures at Point No Pointwere one of those sessions where the weather almost didn't cooperate and then completely delivered. The rain had just cleared right before we started, and it left behind a moody, fresh evening that embodied spring in Washington. The skies were still stormy, the trees had just turned green, and the whole place felt like it had come back to life after a long winter.

The tide that evening was unusually low, which opened up parts of Point No Point that aren't always accessible. A large rock that normally sits half submerged or fully underwater was completely exposed and walkable all the way around, and the beach stretched out far enough that we could make our way out to some small sandbars near the water.

We also used the tall grass patch and driftwood, which gave us some nice contrast to the water shots. The stormy sky behind the driftwood and the deep green of the trees in the background made everything feel a little more textured and dramatic without being over the top.

Owen came with three outfits that all worked really well with the vibe of his session. He wore a light greyish-green plaid button down, a black crewneck, and a light grey quarter zip — all paired with the same jeans. Each top was simple enough that he stood out in it rather than competing with the backdrop, and the variety kept the gallery feeling diverse while still feeling totally true to his style. The muted, soft tones played really nicely against the stormy sky and the fresh spring greens.

One thing that stood out during Owen's session was that he helped direct a few of the shots himself. It's always a great sign when a senior comes in with some vision for how they want their photos to look and is willing to speak up about it. Those turned out to be some of the strongest frames from the whole evening.
