Maddie’s Senior Portrait Session at Howe Farm in Port Orchard, WA
Despite it being mid-January, Maddie’s senior pictures felt so warm and glowy that you could barely tell they were taken in winter! She wore two outfits – a classic white dress and cute top with jeans – both of which popped beautifully against the backdrop.
Howe Farm is mostly considered a spring-through-fall location, but it has proven to be just as beautiful in the winter. The field is full of shades of browns and grays, creating a simple backdrop perfect for you to stand out in front of. The area around the barn has evergreen trees, green grass, red/purple bushes, and other plants that add a variety of colors in the background to make it feel less dreary in the winter.
We chose a sunny day for Maddie’s senior session to add some extra glow and dimension to her pictures. The warmth of the sun’s light helps combat many of the cool, grey tones seen in the winter. Though sunny days can be hard to come by in the winter, they are so worth the wait!
